The West AHEC offers a variety of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Education (CE) programs for practicing health care professionals in our region. Programs are presented throughout the year and topics range from required programs such as Domestic Violence and HIV/AIDS Updates to topics of interests in various fields of medicine. We specifically offer programs targeting physicians and pharmacists based on needs assessments completed annually with these groups of providers in our region, but also offer multi-disciplinary programs throughout the year as well.

With the inception of the new Kentucky TeleHealth Network System (KTHN), the West AHEC now has an additional venue of programs to offer as well as opening new avenues for professionals in our region to present programs to others throughout the state. For more information on the Kentucky TeleHealth Network, please visit their web site at telehealth.state.ky.us.

Listed below are upcoming program offerings. Internal Grand Rounds/Noon in the RMC Auditorium, 900 Hospital Drive, Madisonville, Kentucky. The Clinical Conferences offer only CME Category 1 credit unless noted otherwise. The West AHEC offers CME programming through our host institution, Trover Health System. The CME unit is part of the Trover Foundation Education Division. The Trover Clinic Foundation, Inc. is accredited by the Kentucky Medical Association (KMA) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The Trover Health System designates each educational activity for a maximum of a certain number of credit hour(s) in Category I credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

For more specific information on programming available in our region, please contact Martha Pleasant at 1-800-357-8801 or 270-824-3442 or via email at mpleasan@trover.org.
