Welcome to the West Area Health Education Center (West AHEC). We are located in Madisonville, Kentucky on the medical campus of Trover Health System.
AHEC is a collaborative effort of the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center, the University of Kentucky Medical Center and eight regional centers. We serve 14 counties in the western part of the state.
Our goal is to improve the recruitment, distribution and retention of health care professionals in our region and to improve the health of the communities we serve.
We offer many programs and services in this arena, such as, clinical education training opportunities in rural sites for health professions students, continuing medical education and continuing education programming for practicing health professionals, health careers recruitment activities for all ages and medical library services support.
